Bini, is, well Bini; with a mind of her own and a heart bigger than Colorado. At age 14, Bini bought a horse, without telling her parents, for $37. He was at a Fox Farm and was going to be slaughtered to feed the foxes. She paid 3 ¼ cents a pound for his 840 lbs., named him Lucky Chance, won an award from the Humane Society, and proceeded to teach him to jump. Her very first horse rescue.
Since moving to Colorado in the late 50s Bini has continued to rescue horses, informally, and formally; as a member of Colorado Horse Rescue, founder of Horse Protection League and founder of Rocky Mountain Horse Rescue. She’s been recognized by numerous groups over the years, but accolades aside; her true reward is giving horses with an uncertain future a chance at life, and love.
